36 Years old Agassi Agass's 21 years career ends illustriously with third-round loss to 112th-ranked Benjamin Becker in US Open 2006 but he earns the true respect from the crowds, his fans, his families and opponents. What is true success? this is true success! your true success is when you have earned the true respect from the person you love most!



That's why, after his final match, the 20,000 or so fans who honored him with a raucous, four-minute standing ovation in Arthur Ashe Stadium after the match, it truly did not matter all that much what Sunday's outcome was. This day and this tournament were all about saying goodbye to an eight-time Grand Slam champion who grew up in front of the world, from cocky kid with the shoulder-length hair and denim shorts to the thoughtful guy with the shaved pate and proper tennis whites.

"The scoreboard said I lost today, but what the scoreboard doesn't say is what it is I've found," Agassi told the crowd, tears streaming down his cheeks, his voice cracking with emotion. "Over the last 21 years, I've found loyalty. You have pulled for me on the court and also in life. I have found inspiration. You have willed me to succeed sometimes even in my lowest moments."

After Agassi shared a private moment with Stefanie Graf and their children, he entered the locker room to another standing ovation, this one from his fellow players. He chatted briefly with his coach, Darren Cahill, sitting side-by-side on a bench. When Cahill left, Agassi changed out of his on-court attire, dressed gingerly, then took a moment to stretch his back on a locker room bench.

"I'm going to wake up tomorrow and start with not caring how I feel. That's going to feel great," Agassi said. "And then I'm imagining for a long time, anytime somebody asks me to do something, I'm going to go, 'Sure. Why not?"

After his news conference, Agassi headed for the parking lot, stopping occasionally for hugs, including with Saturday Night Live alum Jon Lovitz, of all people.

With fans surrounding his car -- several yelling, "Thank you, Andre!" -- he climbed into the back, joining his brother, trainer and coach. As the car pulled away, Agassi turned to wave goodbye, to his tournament, to his fans, to his career.

Do you Miss God's Blessing?

A young man was getting ready to graduate from college. For many months he had admired a beautiful sports car in a dealer's showroom, and knowing his father could well afford it, he told him that was all he wanted.

As Graduation Day approached, the young man awaited signs that his father had purchased the car. Finally, on the morning of his graduation, his father called him into his private study. His father told him how proud he was to have such a fine son, and told him how much he loved him. He handed his son a beautifully wrapped gift box.

Curious, and somewhat disappointed, the young man opened the box and found a lovely, leather-bound Bible, with the young man's name embossed in gold. Angry, he rose his voice to his father and said "with all your money, you give me a Bible?" and stormed out of the house.

Many years passed and the young man was very successful in business. He had a beautiful home and wonderful family, but realised his father was very old, and thought perhaps he should go to him. He had not seen him since that graduation day.

Before he could make arrangements, he received a telegram telling him his father had passed away, and willed all of his possessions to his son. He needed to come home immediately and take care of things.

When he arrived at his father's house, sudden sadness and regret filled his heart. He began to search through his father's important papers and saw the still gift-wrapped Bible, just as he had left it years ago. With tears, he opened the Bible and began to turn the pages. His father had carefully underlined a verse, Matt. 7:11, "And if ye, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more shall your Heavenly Father which is in Heaven, give to those who ask Him?"

As he read those words, a car key dropped from the back of the Bible. It had a tag with the dealer's name, the same dealer who had the sports car he had desired. On the tag was the date of his graduation, and the words PAID IN FULL.

How many times do we miss God's blessings because that are not package as we wanted it to be? How many times do we miss God's blessings because we can't see past our own desires?

Below are an inspired story from the book "25 Ways to Win With People" by John C. Maxwell (Chapter 25 - Help People Win , Pg. 169-172)

When John Maxwell's nephew, Eric, was seven years old, he got ready to play his first game in his first season of Little League baseball. John and Margaret went to see the game, and of course, John wanted to help Eric win. Here is the story as John often tells it:

You've got to understand, Eric had never played baseball before. He's intimidated, he's scared, he's fearful, he's frightened. And his coach thinks it's the World Series! So Eric walks up to the plate. His helmet is way down over his ears, his uniform is way too big for him, and he can hardly hold the bat. He's petrified. So there he stand, facing the other team's pitcher, who is always the biggest kid. His name is Butch, he's got a big wad of bubble gum in his jaw, and peach fuzz all over his face.
Eric just kind of hugged the bat and closed his eyes and prayed. And that ball went whoosh! Strike one. Whoosh! Strike two. Whoosh! Strike three. I mean, just like that, and when the umpire said “You are out” Eric just looked glad to be alive.

As he walked back to the dugout, parents started yelling at him and the coach was hollering at him. And I'm sitting there thinking, This is my nephew and he's scared.
So I went down to the little fence where Eric was, and I said “Sweetheart, I don't know what they have told you about baseball, but let your Uncle John teach you something. Baseball is a very simple game”
He said “what do you mean?”
I said, “You only have to do one thing. The next time you go up to bat, every time Butch throws the ball, you just swing the bat. That's all you have to do. Butch throws the ball, you swing the bat. Butch throws the ball, you swing the bat”
He looked at me and said “that is all I gotta do?”
I Said “that's all, don't worry about hitting that ball, just swing that bat” And all the sudden a smile broke out on his face, and he said “I can do that”
I said “Sure you can do that! Go Get them , boy”

The next time Eric got up to bat, Butch threw the ball and Erick swung the bat. He missed it by a mile. In face, he swung so late the ball was already in the catcher's glove. I am now beginning to clap my hands. I am saying, “Wonderful swing, Eric, wonderful swing. That-a-boy! Every time Butch throws the ball, you swing the bat”

Butch throws the ball Erick swings the bat. Butch throws the ball, he missing it by about three feet. Finally, he strikes out on the third strike.
I'm on my feet shouting, “Eric McCullogh, that is the finest strikeout I have ever seen in my life. Way to go!”At that point, the coach looks up into the bleachers and gives me a dirty look. And the parents aren't too happy either.
Margaret says “Sweetheart, I'm gonna go to the car and read a book.”
But I don't care, because after this at bat, Eric is smiling.

Now, to be honest, I didn't think Eric was going to get a hit that day. Besides, in Little League baseball, there's no such thing as a hit. If there is any kind of contact, it's not the bat hitting the ball, it is the ball hitting the bat. And if there's one thing I know, it is this: if the ball hits the bat, it doesn't have to go far, it just has to go fair. And in Little League baseball, if the ball goes anywhere in fair territory, you never stop running.

Well, I didn't think it was gonna happen, but it did. The third time up, Butch threw the ball, Eric swings, the ball hits the bat. It wasn't a crack out into center field, it was a thud. As soon as I saw the ball was fair, I'm out of the bleachers and I'm running down the first base line saying “Eric, keep on running, keep on running!”
As Eric goes around first base, I cut across the infield as fast as I can. I am not at third base and I'm saying “Come on, Eric! Come on, Eric!” Eric rounds third base, and together we slide safe in to home. Eric gets up and brushes off his uniform, I get up and brush off my suit, and we walked off the field, I just looked at the coach and gave him a smile.

We went home that day to Eric's home. His parents had to work and didn't get to see the game, but we replayed it for them. I stood in the middle of the living room and I pretended to be Butch, and Eric stood by the piano beach, which was home plate. I threw that pitch, he hit that ball. We went around the bases and Eric slid safe under the piano beach. We all stood up and gave him a standing ovation, and that day we launched Eric into his Little League baseball career.

Eric is all grown up now. But at about the time he was ready to graduate from high school, Erick came out to visit me. And he said “Uncle John, I've got something exciting to tell you. You remember my first Little League baseball game?”
"Of course I do” I said, and we reminisced about it.
"I've never forgotten it” Eric said “And I just wanted to tell you, this year I am going to college on a baseball scholarship”

You don't have to be rich, famous, or talented to help others win. You just need to care and do your best to help them. And know this: when you have the ability to help someone win, you will be that person's friend for life

Think Before You Duplicate

There is a story about the old shopkeeper on Main street who placed a grand-father clock in the front window of his store. Over the years the shopkeeper noticed that a distinguished-looking man would walk by the store everyday at noon, pause in front of the grand-father clock... pull out a pocket watch... and carefully set the time.

One day the shopkeeper's curiosity got the best of him. When the gentleman paused in front of the grandfather clock, the shopkeeper ran out of the store and asked the man why he set his watch each and everyday.

The man smiled and replied: "I am the foreman at the town mill, I blow the quitting whistle at 5:00 each day and I want to be sure it goes off exactly on time"

The old shopkeeper gave him a startled look and then burst out laughing. The man stepped back and asked indignantly, "What is so funny?"

"I am sorry," replied the shopkeeper. "I didn't mean to be rude. But I just had to laugh. You see, all these years I have been setting my grand-father clock to your 5:00 whistle!"

Moral of the story: We copy others, others copy us and all too often we assume that the people we are copying have the right answer. We assume we are copying the right people!

Take Action Today

A great flood threatened a man’s home. As the water rose to the man’s front porch, a neighbor in a four-wheel-drive truck offered the man a ride to escape to safety. The man refused, explaining that he had faith that God would save him. As the floodwaters continued to rise, the man eventually had to retreat to the roof of his house.
At this point, a man in a boat came by and offered the stranded man a ride to safety. The man again declined the offer, explaining that he had faith that God would save him.
As the water level reached the top of the man’s roof and it looked as though he would not survive, a helicopter flew down and dropped a rope to rescue the man from certain drowning. Once more the man declined to be rescued and refused to take hold of the rope explaining that he had faith that God would save him. Now, stranded at the highest point of the roof and facing certain death, the man called out to God: “God, I had faith that you would save me. Why have you not done so?”
Suddenly a voice boom from the heavens as God exclaimed: “What do you want from me? I sent you a truck, a boat, and even a helicopter!”

There is a Father who is very successful in his career but he also comes back home from work very late everyday.

One day, his only 5 years old son told him when he just back from work: “Dad, can you play with me now?”
Father: ”No, Son, I feel tried now and I got to work again tomorrow”

Next day morning, once the boy waked up and he said to his father “Dad, can you play with me today?”
The Father replied: “I told you I got to go to work”

One week later, the son waked up in the morning and very excited to tell his father that: “Dad, Today don’t go to work, play with me”
Father felt very annoying and said “you really don’t understand? I told you many times already. Without my job, we won’t be living in this comfort life”
Son said “ Dad, Wait for a while”
Then he run up to the room to find his piggy bank and broke it on the floor. He counted all the money from his piggy bank to a total of $39 and run down to tell his father “Dad, can I borrow $11 from you?”
Father said “First, you asked me not to go to work and now still want to borrow money from me? I feel very disappointed to you.”
Father gave him $11 anyway.
Son very happy and said: “Dad, here is $50, can I borrow one hour of your time to play with me? for just one hour?”

Monday Blue? Think again!

Do you work with people who tick off the days of the week something like this?

First, on Monday, they whine in a nasally, self-pitying voice, "I hate Monday..." On Tuesday they complain, "Today feels like a Monday". Wednesday brings " Augh... Middle of the week.. hump day". Then on Thursday they moan "oh, man... I cann't wait for.."

"Firday? WHOA! Weekend! Party!"

Then , all too soon, it's back to that nasally whine, "Sunday, work tomorrow..."

"If you go through your life hating Monday, you have committed yourself to hating one-seventh of your life. What a waste. Mondays are inevitable, why not make the best of them?"
