Take Action Today

A great flood threatened a man’s home. As the water rose to the man’s front porch, a neighbor in a four-wheel-drive truck offered the man a ride to escape to safety. The man refused, explaining that he had faith that God would save him. As the floodwaters continued to rise, the man eventually had to retreat to the roof of his house.
At this point, a man in a boat came by and offered the stranded man a ride to safety. The man again declined the offer, explaining that he had faith that God would save him.
As the water level reached the top of the man’s roof and it looked as though he would not survive, a helicopter flew down and dropped a rope to rescue the man from certain drowning. Once more the man declined to be rescued and refused to take hold of the rope explaining that he had faith that God would save him. Now, stranded at the highest point of the roof and facing certain death, the man called out to God: “God, I had faith that you would save me. Why have you not done so?”
Suddenly a voice boom from the heavens as God exclaimed: “What do you want from me? I sent you a truck, a boat, and even a helicopter!”

Living intentionally takes action on our part. We have all been equipped with tools, abilities, and circumstances necessary to reach our God-given potential. But reaching that potential requires action – Consistent, purposeful action! So, what are you waiting for? Take action today!

The Someday Syndrome

"Someday when I grow up, finish school and get a job, I will start living my life the way I want... Someday after the mortage is paid off, the finances are on track and the kids are grown up, I will drive that new car and take exciting trips aboard... Someday, now that I am about to retire, I will buy that beautiful motor home and travel across this great country, and see all there is to see... Someday."

-Ed Foreman

Never Quit

A high school football coach was attempting to motivate his players to perserve through a difficult stretch of close losses on the road. Halfway through the season, he stood before his team and said, "Did Micheal Jordan ever quite?" The team responded, "No!"
He yelled, "What about the Wright brothers? Did they ever give up?" "No!" the team resounded. "Did John Elway ever throw in the towel?" Again, The team yelled "No!"
"Did Elmer Williams ever quit?"
There was a long silence. Finally one player was bold enough to ask, "Who is Elmer Williams? We have never heard of him." The coach triumphantly snapped back, "Of course you never heard of him - He quit!"

They need your time and attention!

There is a Father who is very successful in his career but he also comes back home from work very late everyday.

One day, his only 5 years old son told him when he just back from work: “Dad, can you play with me now?”
Father: ”No, Son, I feel tried now and I got to work again tomorrow”

Next day morning, once the boy waked up and he said to his father “Dad, can you play with me today?”
The Father replied: “I told you I got to go to work”
Son: “Can you don’t go to work and play with me today?”
Father show bit of angry and said “Don’t you understand why I need to go to work? I need to earn the money for your food and education.”
Son: ”….”

Few days later, Son got up and requested his father to play with him again
The Father felt very upset and said: “I told you if I don’t go to work, I wouldn’t earn the money”
The son asked: “How much money do you make?”
The father replied proudly: “$50 per hour and I am getting late now, bye”
The son : “…..”

One week later, the son waked up in the morning and very excited to tell his father that: “Dad, Today don’t go to work, play with me”
Father felt very annoying and said “you really don’t understand? I told you many times already. Without my job, we won’t be living in this comfort life”
Son said “ Dad, Wait for a while”
Then he run up to the room to find his piggy bank and broke it on the floor. He counted all the money from his piggy bank to a total of $39 and run down to tell his father “Dad, can I borrow $11 from you?”
Father said “First, you asked me not to go to work and now still want to borrow money from me? I feel very disappointed to you.”
Father gave him $11 anyway.
Son very happy and said: “Dad, here is $50, can I borrow one hour of your time to play with me? for just one hour?”
Father :”….”

Defination of Success and Failure

What is the difference between Success and Failure? most of the people will answer something like: "It is when you try for something and you don't get it. Successful people are those who make it; failures are those who don't"

Answer : Wrong!!

The real difference between a success and a failure is not that the success tried and succeeded while the failure tried and didn't success.

A success is a person who tries and tries. A failure is a person who tries and quits, or doesn't try at all.

A person who tries something has the possibility of not achieving it. A person who doesn't try has the certainty of not achieving it.

The Failure is not about trying and not achieving. Failure is about not trying, or giving up after trying too little.

Face your Uncertainty

There is a story about a group of condemned villains who were offered a choice. They were told they could face a firing squad or they could take their chances going through an unopened door, facing the consequences of what lay beyond.

They chose the firing squad!! Why?

Death was at least a sure thing. In choosing the firing squad, they didn’t have to deal with uncertainty.

Freedom was behind the door! Face your own uncertainty. You never know what opportunities are hidden by indecision.

Monday Blue? Think again!

Do you work with people who tick off the days of the week something like this?

First, on Monday, they whine in a nasally, self-pitying voice, "I hate Monday..." On Tuesday they complain, "Today feels like a Monday". Wednesday brings " Augh... Middle of the week.. hump day". Then on Thursday they moan "oh, man... I cann't wait for.."

"Firday? WHOA! Weekend! Party!"

Then , all too soon, it's back to that nasally whine, "Sunday, work tomorrow..."

"If you go through your life hating Monday, you have committed yourself to hating one-seventh of your life. What a waste. Mondays are inevitable, why not make the best of them?"

The Niagara Syndrome

"Life is like a river for many people, they just jump in the river of life without ever deciding where they want to end up, so they quickly get caught up in the current, current events, current challenges, current fears. And then they come to the forks in the rivers, they don't consciously decide which way to go or which direction is right for them, they just go with the flow of the river, they become a part of the mass of people who are directed by the environment instead of by their own values. As a result, they feel out of control."
"They remain in this unconscious state until one day the sound of the raging water awakens them and they discover that they are 5 feet from Niagara Falls in a boat with no oars. At this point, all they can say is, "oh, shoot!" But by then it's too late. They are going to take a fall"
"It may be a financial set back or the break up of a relationship or maybe even a health problem, in almost all of the cases the fall could have been prevented by making better decisions up stream."

The Feeling? It is the Fruit of Love

During a seminar, a man came up and said to Stephen Covey.
'Stephen, I like what you are preaching about relationships. But every situation is different. Look at my marriage. I am really worried. My wife and I just don't have the same feeling for each other that we used to have. I guess I just don't love her anymore, and she doesn't love me".
"The feeling is not there anymore?" Stephen enquired.
"That is right", the man affirmed. "And we have three children and we are really concerned about it. What do you suggest?"
"Love her", Stephen Covey advised him.
"I told you the feeling just isn't there"
"Then love her. If the feeling is not there, that is all the more reason to love her."
"But how do you love when you don't love?"
"My friend," Covey told him " Love is a verb. Love - the feeling- is the fruit of love, the verb or our loving actions. So love her. Sacrifice. Listen to her. Empathize. Appreciate. Affirm her."

Belief

Before 1954, experts insisted that no one are able to break the 4 minute barries in one mile run and it had been considered impossible.... at least it is not possible by a human body.
In 1954, Roger Bannister broke the world record and ran the mile in under 4 minutes(3:59.4 Min). Bannister done it by Beliefs!, he believes he can do it!
This is not end of the story, within a year of Bannister's record, 37 more runners broke the 4 minute barrier. A year later another 300 broke it. It takes more than 5000 years for the first runner to break the 4 minute barries but it takes only 2 years after Bannister's record for another 337 runners to achieve it?!
Again, they all done it by BELIEFS! They saw someone made it and believe it can be done so they did it!

There is another cute story:
According to the theory of aerodynamics, the bumblebee is unable to fly! This is because of its thin wings and total wingspan, in relation to the size, weight and shape of his body, makes flying impossible. But, luckily, the bumblebee doesn't know this! bumble didn't read or listen to those expects' analysis, It goes ahead and flies and works and achieves!
